Angie T., a food blogger from VA, has done it again with this amazingly simple steamed egg recipe that tastes as good as it looks. she writes; "This simple steamed egg recipe is the perfect morning meal or a side dish to your dinner entrée."
Angie created this recipe using an Egg Kit and only a hand full of additional ingredients. All you need for this are three very simple ingredients: Your favorite 1Eatz Egg Kit, Eggs and vegetable or chicken stock! You can serve it as is or with some hot sauce, green chilies or chili oil if you like a little kick.
See this recipe on Angie's blog.
Ingredients
-
1Eatz Egg Kit - Qty 1
-
Water -1 to 1.5 Cups (see note below)
-
Eggs - Qty 4
-
Vegetable or Chicken Stock - 1 to 1.5 Cups (see note below)
-
Optional: Salt to taste
Directions
Prepare
Crack the eggs into a measuring cup and beat them lightly with a fork until smooth. Do not over beat the eggs.
Measure the volume of eggs in the measuring cup. The amount of water and stock used in this recipe depends on the volume of the eggs. You will use equal part of water and stock. (For example: If your egg mixture measures out to 1 Cup of eggs, you will use 1 cup of water and 1 cup of stock.)
In a medium bowl, combine the contents of Egg Kits, water, stock, a pinch of salt and mix thoroughly.
Slowly pour the eggs into the mixture through a fine mesh strainer (to remove any lumps that may have formed). Lightly stir to mix well.
Divide the mixture evenly into 5-6 heat proof bowls. We used six 3.6 oz ramekins.
Cook
Place the bowls into a steamer and steam on low for 12-15 mins. Your cooking time will vary depending on the volume and depth of the bowls.
Your steamed eggs are ready!
